■  AI-FinTech Business Model (AI-

■  DATA SCIENCE FOR BUSINESS

■  DATA MINING AND BUSINESS INTELLIGENCE

This class is an introduction to the fundamental concepts of data science. It is the intro class for the business big data program at the graduate school of information. This course is about how to think about extracting information from data in order to solve problems better. We will examine how data mining and data analysis technologies can be used to improve decision-making.  We will study the fundamental principles and techniques of data mining, and we will examine real-world examples and cases to place data-mining techniques in context, to develop data-analytic thinking, and to illustrate that proper application is as much an art as it is a science.

■  QUANTATIVE DATA ANALYSIS FOR RESEARCH(정량적 데이터분석과 연구)

This module will go in-depth into information collection and analysis required for quantitative empirical research. It will cover sampling, regression, instrument validation, model building, analysis of variance, factor analysis, structural equation modeling, and other testing methods. The course will be practice-oriented, whereby students are expected to execute quantitative data analysis and testing. Students will learn how to use software tools (SPSS, PLS, and LISREL) for the testing. They will be required to summarize their analysis and testing results in a report.

■  DIGITAL BUSINESS MODELS

This course aims to introduce digital business models. Digital business models can be applicable to not only online companies but also offline companies including online business components. Upon successful completion of this module, students should be able to:

1) Understand the competitive environment that digital business firms face;

2) Be aware of the various business models that business firms can adopt in order to survive and succeed in the competitive environment;

3) Critically evaluate the attractiveness and effectiveness of an online business venture; and

4) Develop a competitive strategy by which business firms can gain and hold advantage over rivals.

■  SERVICE SYSTEMS AND MANAGEMENT

Services account for about 70% of GNP in most developed economies. Service business is thus an important business in developed countries. Service management presents unique challenges that reflect fundamental differences between products and services. For instances, services involve greater intangibility, variability, consumer participation and so on. These give rise to singular problems in service design, delivery and control.

This course is designed to introduce students to service systems (customer, service provider, and information systems) and service management in a variety of enterprise and industry settings. Students will learn about the management of service systems operations and their design. The course will also cover service systems innovation, performance, measurement, and quality assurance. It will also discuss how IT-enabled services impact an organization and the external environment.

■  BUSINESS DECISION MAKING: SYSTEM DYNAMICS

This course aims to introduce System Dynamics and its application for IT-driven organizational change and management with following goals:

1) To analyze and understand business problems and issues from the systems thinking perspective

2) To formulate and test business problems from the system dynamics perspective

3) To support management and the relevant decision making

This course covers following topics:

1) Understanding business problems including IT policies in terms of system dynamics

2) Conceptualization and analysis of business problem and IT policy-related phenomenon in terms of system dynamics

3) Formulation and Simulation testing of business problem

3) Application of System Dynamics for management support

After completing this course, students are expected to have following knowledge and abilities:

1) Students would be able to analyze business problem including the target domain of IT policy in terms of system dynamics

2) Students would be able to understand the structure of target system

(e.g., business problem, application domain of IT policy)

3) Students would be able to identity key causes of focal problem

4) Students would be able to identify and compare decision alternatives
